I Forgot To Cry

I forgot to cry today

I never thought I would,

I was halfway through the day

Before I knew I could

I  guess it is true time does heal

other thoughts do come

Other needs to be met

 Even laughter before the day is done

I forgot to cry today

And I wonder if that’s okay,

Did it mean I’d forgotten

If the tears didn’t stay?

I believe the Lord plans it that way

He didn’t intend for the tears to last

That we would weep for a little while

And then our tears would pass

I forgot to cry today

But tomorrow they’ll start all over again

I’ll remember and the tears will flow

But someone will need me just as planned
