Going The Extra Mile

Going the extra mile, is more than taking just one trip, 

you’ll do it again, and again every day you live

Going the extra mile, is on purpose taking the furthest way,

 when all reasoning says that’s enough, going on anyway.

Going the extra mile, is going when stopping makes more sense, 

and doing just what was expected was always what was meant.

Going the extra mile, is forgetting that which was,     

 taking your own self out of the equation really and going just because.

Going the extra mile won’t win you any applause,

 an honorable mention ,or even a thank you for your cause,

But to go any way, looking far past the one who compels you to go, 

to the One waiting where the river of waters flows.

But remember, going the extra mile, with all of its efforts can even come to naught

 if it’s for attention that you’ve sought, 

But go on, child of His, you’re not called to be like the rest,

 you answer to a different call, the King of glory, the best!!
